Lock & Lock Polypropylene Water Bottle, 40 ounce

... I have spent months looking for the perfect water bottle. Every other bottle I have come across will eventually have water seep out around the lid. This bottle has solved that problem with a little rubber ring and this thing doesn't leak. I primarily use this product for just water, but I have also use protein shakes in it and it doesn't have any of the caking issues. It is small enough to keep in my bag or with me at the gym. Plus you never have to worry about it spilling. A must buy. I have both this and the 20 oz model. This is great for long days. The only difference is there is more in this one, so this is more or less a copy of my 20 oz.. review. ...

Platypus Sport Bottle

... I used my Platy (as I lovingly call it) every day last summer as a camp counselor. It was used and abused in rough, dirty situations but never failed me. I've only used my Platy to carry water so I don't know how it holds up to other beverages, however, these are some notes I have compiled about it:

- Unlike hard plastic bottles, an empty Platy can fold up into your pocket or backpack for anytime when you need to wait until you get into your destination to fill it (for instance, going through security at an airport or getting into a theme park that doesn't allow outside drinks).

- This bottle is definitely a conversation piece; all of the kids thought it was the coolest thing ever and the other counselors were jealous that I always seemed to have a water bottle at a moments notice.

- The Platy is much easier to fill from a faucet than a babbling brook but with some practice you can figure it out. One of my friends, a avid backpacker and hiker, regularly fills her Platy bottle while out in the wildness so I know it can be done.

- I accidentally left my Platy half full of water for a few months but, miraculously, with only a little soap and water swished around, it is back to new! The plastic doesn't retain any scents or flavors.

- Platy bottles can be used with warm or cold beverages. They are not insulated at all but I have found that they hold in the cold or heat for a reasonable amount of time. Some have suggested using them as a heat pack on cold nights. I can also attest that they make a fine cold pack if you get a little overheated.

- The 1.0 liter Platy is big and does take some getting use to. It is perfect for outdoor activities where you want a lot of water handy but maybe not so good for a jog down the block. Keep in mind, however, that it is a bag and therefore more squishy and flexible to pack in a backpack or hold in your hand.

I love my 1.0 liter Platy so much that I am going to buy the smaller, more conveniently sized .5 liter to be my everyday bottle. ...

Brunton New Aluminum 1 Liter Water Bottle

... I looked everywhere for an aluminum bottle that DID NOT have a lid that screws into the inside of the bottle's mouth. Why? Well, the main reason I wanted to switching to a non-plastic bottle is to avoid the ingestion of the phthalates that are in plastic. However, if the bottle has a plastic lid that screws on, the friction causes tiny particles of plastic to rub off. If the lid screws inside the bottle, those particles fall right into your beverage and are ingested in potentially large amounts. This is why a lid that screws on the outside is so much better. The plastic particles are on the outside and if a straw is used, fewer particles of plastic would be ingested. I know, straws are made of plastic, but the exposure is minimal.
The Burton bottle is great! ...

NALGENE Tritan 1-Pint Narrow Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle

... This bottle is perfect for kids. The size is great, the slate blue color seems very appealing to boys, and it's a good price for this product. 32 oz is a little big for a 9 yr old or a 3 yr old (those are the kids I know who use it) so the 16 oz, narrow neck (stops the bottle from emptying out immediately if dropped), handle-in-capkeeper design is all very well thought out. I have this bottle in 32 oz as well for myself and I've never had to worry about the capkeepig strap breaking off as I use it to carry the bottle.

It's BPA-free so you can take it for say outdoor sports and not worry about the sun leeching toxins into the water. The material is remarkably insulating so you don't get hot water as fast as you do in a normal plastic bottle. The bottle itself is virtually indestructible for casual use. Those walls are thick.

I've used camelbacks, siggs, and other brands, but returned to the Nalgene as the most convenient. ...

Sigg Traveler Classic Water Bottle (1.0-Liters, Silver)

... Pros: Light weight, easy to carry around, convenience, does not affect the taste of the water- clean taste, you only taste water, not the bottle

Cons: Cannot be washed in a dishwasher- must be hand washed (I use the Sigg brush to clean it, also available on Amazon). The mouth opening is just that- a hole that is a bit wide and sometimes causes some spilling because it is sometimes hard to drink out of. Maybe they should sell an attachment mouthpiece like they use on sports bottles. ...

Sportline Hydracoach-Intelligent Water Bottle (Blue)

... I don't drink water. I just don't. Not that I don't like it, I just don't get up and pour myself a glass of water, let alone the 8 glasses a day I should be drinking. This makes the process a lot of fun, and like a competition. I got my husband one as well, and he beats me every day. That was a shocker, as he is not a healthy type person. So for a device to have both him and I drinking water like we should, I give it 5 stars.
I wzas a little worried at one point as my bottle stopped reading my water intake, but my husband fixed it. He found the straw had loosened a little bit. It's working perfectly again.

Aquamira 67002 Water Bottle and Microbiological Filter

... I love to do four wheeling and I got this product for a "survival backapck" that I usually carry on my Wrangler. I did some kind of tests, basically to know how opearate this filter, but instructions are very limited. I don't know how much time I can store the filter or some other basic information, like how to identify when you need to replace the filter.

The filter works fine and I think it does a nice job because after filtration water is tasteless and fresh but the plastic bottle is so hard but moreover the spout closes so easily when you are sucking water out of the bottle sealing it off. To make it even worse, water leaks from the bottleneck!!

I've been loking for a platic bottle to fit on it the filter, and if possible a greater water capacity. Don't waste your money, I'm sure you will find easily a similar but better product.
